Water Features

Many of our landscapes are centered around water features.  Water features are often the main focal point for the entire design and are therefor paid much attention.  Having moving water in a landscape provides a gentle background noise for any activity you wish to persue in your yard.  Waterfalls add movement while ponds provide an open space creating the possibility to increase the percieved size of the landscape.  By using a large cap stone or log at the source point for waterfalls and streams it lends to the appearance of a natural spring.  The waterflow can be adjusted to create a calming trickle of water gurgling over the river rock stream bed or increased to create a fast moving stream of water that appears more like a stream after a heavy rainfall.  With the use of underwater lighting these flows are illuminated in the twilight hours and during the night to provide added interest to the landscape.  Some lights can also be aimed on the aquatic plants within the larger ponds.  These ponds provide a calming, spa like location within your own back yard where you are able to relax on a day off or after a long day of work.
